What is Homesteading?

According to Wikipedia, Homesteading is a lifestyle of self-sufficiency. It is characterized by subsistence agriculture, home preservation of food, and may also involve the small scale production of textiles, clothing, and craft work for household use or sale.

We see it a with a twist. We see Homesteading as a community.  We see it as a form of preservation. As our Country continues to evolve, it is easy to lose (temporarily we hope) values and an appreciation for hard work, sharing, self sufficiency and local interdependence. We see homesteading as an opportunity to not be afraid or affected by supply chain interruption, misguided governance, or being drawn into a belief that you must make money to eat and to live. 

Our Homestead is a working laboratory. It is a field of dreams. It is about making memories. It is about sharing in the work and in the harvest. It is about living on our own terms. Wild Sage Cattle Co is our version of homesteading.
